The referral hospital of the district is the Sadar Hospital on Main Road Bata Gali in Sitamarhi, 843302. Below it, fifteen primary health centres cover the blocks — Bairgania, Bajpatti, Bathnaha, Belsand, Bokhra, Choraut, Majorganj, Nanpur, Parihar, Parsauni, Pupri, Runni Saidpur, Sonbarsa, Suppi and Sursand.

The district health society and the Civil Surgeon's office run the programmes; the numbers are published by the health department and are given below. Private nursing homes and chemists cluster on the Main Road and the hospital road.
