Notable People

Mithila as a whole, and Sitamarhi with it, is known for its line of Maithili writers and scholars, for the painters who took the wall art of the region onto paper, and for the social reformers who worked in the villages of the division during the independence movement.

This page is deliberately short: a list of people needs sources, and the district portal does not publish one. If you have a verifiable claim about a person born in or long associated with a village of this district, send it through the contact page with the source, and it will be added with the reference shown.
